Prohibition ends

December 5, 2025, marks a significant day in American history – National Repeal Day! 92 years ago, on this very date in 1933, the 18th Amendment was repealed, ending the era of federal Prohibition and restoring the right to enjoy a drink (or two, or three...).

At Olde Sonoma Public House, we're proud to celebrate this momentous occasion and the freedom to serve you a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Join us on December 5th as we raise a glass to the repeal of Prohibition and the rich history that has shaped America's drinking culture.

A Brief History of Prohibition

The 18th Amendment, ratified on January 16, 1919, prohibited the manufacture, sale, and transportation of intoxicating liquors. However, 14 years later, on December 5, 1933, the 21st Amendment was ratified, repealing the 18th Amendment and restoring the right to enjoy a drink.
