Located in the funky-fun area of Boyes Hot Springs in Sonoma, we are a low-key, comfortable taproom with 34 regional and imported craft brews on tap...
Our taps change continuously; come back in a few days and there are new beers on draft. Local wines are also featured. Bottled beer is sold for here or to-go, including the legendary Pliny the Elder. A homey locals hang out, think “living room away from your living room” with friendly folks, knowledgeable bartenders, and a host of tasty beers and ciders on tap. Munch on Mexican food favorites from the adjacent taqueria, watch a game, play darts, pool, or pinball, but most of all relax and enjoy tasty brews and a great community vibe. Come for the beer, stay for the people.

Owner/proprietor Coley Thinnes embodies craft-brew street cred. Coley helped put Lagunitas on the map, brewing there for eight years “back in the day” when they were at the old Ross Street location and later at their current location. He brewed on Tony Magee’s 15 bbl system and later on his 35 bbl system, helping to create interesting and unique brews such as the Brown Shugga’. Later, Coley moved to Iron Springs Pub and Brewery, where he brewed award-winning beers and won a World Beer Cup Gold for his Oatmeal Stout recipe.
During his Lagunitas days, he gave a tour of the brewery to a group of teachers, one of which was a homebrewer and would become his future wife. Some guys bring girls flowers, but Coley instead offered hops as a way to Jo’s heart! After production brewing “in the back of the house” for 13 years, Coley was ready to strike out on his own. He and Jo opened their own taproom near their home in the Boyes Hot Springs area of Sonoma in 2010. Coley and Jo love tasty and unique beers, love their neighborhood, and love each other. Olde Sonoma Public House opened as a result of those passions. Coley and Jo felt their side of Sonoma needed a comfy, community hub featuring excellent craft brews, local wines, and lots of good times.
According to Coley and Jo, “We have been blessed with an amazing tradition of expert Nor-Cal brewing and a fantastic team of knowledgeable bartenders who feel like family. Every day we are thankful for the community we live in and the fascinating, funny, and heart-warming folks who call the pub ‘their local.’”
